About the Art

Mental Illness Stigma exists not only in film and the media; it's in our own communities, our doctor visits, our workplace, and sometimes yes, even within our own families. Many of us afflicted are also burdened with the heavy weight that debilitating stigma brings. This design comes from the internal scream I felt for years to avoid a scene or to be called crazy, sensitive, or worse ignored. This design is here to bring that internal scream outward to show you and the world you cannot be stifled; not about mental illness, not about anything. Scream Against Stigma, advocate for yourself at the top of your lungs until you have the care and respect you want and rightfully deserve.
