M. Jean's Jazzy Jewels

Let me tell you about my friend, Melody. A woman I have admired and loved since the day I met her while waiting tables at Longhorn Steakhouse in Nashua, NH.

When I started Doublesolid Apparel, she was one of the very first who jumped on board. She has been a cheerleader and a supporter throughout. She is pictured above at our very first photo shoot which was a cold winter day in 2020.

Melody's illness has caused her more pain than anyone I have ever known has been made to experience. Yet, there she was supporting my business in the cold while taking on a business of her own; M. Jean's Jazzy Jewels.

Therefore, it only made sense the models for LIVE LIFE LOUD would wear her jewelry on the runway. And so, we did. If you watch the video, you will see the fun pieces so many of us wore that day.

But let me tell you a bit more about this incredible woman.

Melody Jean is a 51-year-old terminally ill disabled woman with tremendous passion for life and laughter.

Melody worked her way through college as a single mom and spent over two decades as an Executive Director for early educational facilities, where she ensured a fantastic environment for children while mentoring staff and partnering closely with families and the community.

In February 2012, Melody was diagnosed with Systemic Scleroderma – a debilitating, terminal autoimmune disease. Unfortunately, there is no cure for Systemic Scleroderma. However, Melody has tried many medical trials to save her own life, including a stem cell transplant, several chemotherapies, and countless other medications. Although her prognosis is grim, She is a powerful woman who fights with passion and perseverance.

In 2017 Melody was forced to retire due to extreme medical side effects from her Systemic Scleroderma. That's when she started M.Jean's Jazzy Jewels. Melody somehow wanted to stay connected with people and refused to stay home and die. She was determined to spread joy and laughter somehow. So Melody began going live on social media selling Paparazzi jewelry and making people laugh weekly. It started as a hobby and a way to make some extra money, but it became necessary for her mental health and well-being. She was quickly reminded that making others laugh and smile was what made her laugh and smile.

Despite her work, Melody is the same amazing person who cares for and "watches over" her family, friends, and loved ones with that same passion.

As her friend, I am honored to introduce her and her jewelry to Doublesolid Apparel. M. Jeans' Jazzy Jewels is an officially loved brand and will always be incorporated into our designs because we support one another. That's how we do.
